There are a variety of reasons one would seek out psychological testing. Some people may need "pre-approval" prior to a surgery. Psychological testing will help determine if a patient is behaviorally and emotionally ready for their medical procedure. Others may feel they are struggling with mental health symptoms and are curious about a diagnosis. It is natural to feel curious about how your child is developing and functioning compared to others their age. Testing can give information about IQ to determine giftedness or intellectual disabilities. Achievement tests can allow us to assess what grade level a child is performing and if there are any learning disabilities present. Different counties also have psychological testing as a pre-requisite for early kindergarten entry.
Yes and No. If you choose, you may share this information with your child's school; however, schools typically will conduct their own assessments and implement an IEP with those results. Additional testing completed with Worry Free can be used in combination with school results to help determine individualized plans for your child. If you believe your child will benefit from an IEP, reach out to your school first to see what resources are available. Allow Worry Free to provide your children testing schools may not offer.
